A private mansion built in 1883, its façade is fine example of Neo-Gothic, an architectural and philosophical trend that swept through France at the end of the 19th century. This distinctive setting is the essence of elegance, including the exterior spaces that were furnished and decorated by Jean-Christophe Stoërkel, landscape architect and owner of 6Mandel.
The prestige of the location—between the Champs Élysées, Trocadéro, and the Eiffel Tower—is matched only by the prestige of some of its former guests, such as Pearl White, France’s first silent movie star, Princess Caraman-Chimay, or Jacques Hombert, a close friend of Christian Dior. The décor owes its prestige to Christian Dior—this the only bed and breakfast designed by the couturier, and Dior’s handiwork has been carefully preserved and restored.
“The site is designed to honor Art,” is how Jean-Christophe Stoërkel explains his passion. “The art of gardening, the art of entertaining, the art of living.”
