The origins of the winery date back to 1860, when Prosper Maufoux, a notary public, decided to change career and dedicate his life to his passion for wine, and moved to Santenay. Prosper Maufoux respects traditions but has also followed the modern trend of providing bed and breakfast accommodation to allow guests the time and comfort to visit the winery and taste their Grand Crus.
