A fortified farm that dates from the 16th century, La Maison d’Ulysse gets its name from one of its illustrious owners, Ulysse Dumas, a prominent 19th century archeologist. His discoveries at nearby Belvézet, where he found evidence of a human presence during the Neolithic period, were on display at the Georges Borais Museum in Uzès up until 2009.
The building’s impeccable architecture lies in serene natural surroundings. Mediterranean, organic and wild gardens have been artfully arranged around the domain’s former magnanery, or silk farm.
The interior décor is sleek and stylish, using contemporary furniture to punctuate the spaces. Every object is in its place.
