“Exquisite pieces” at the EDF Foundation: The human body in the form of letters and objects

Exquisite pieces of the body"Exquisite pieces" is the right name for this exhibit, that so finely depicts the human body, both as a whole, as well as piece by piece through texts and common expressions, proverbs and colorful phrases, objects and sculptures, illustrations and photos.

exquisite pieces of the bodyThe EDF Foundation in Paris, The National Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilizations (MuCEM) and the CNRS have joined forces to create this exhibit, with "pieces" from throughout the Mediterranean Basin.

The exhibit is organized by theme and presented in separate showcases, each with its own text.

The visitor will discover multiple linguistic meanings and painterly aspects of the body in the different countries from around the Mediterranean.

Each "piece" represents either the whole body, or just the heart, hand, foot, nose, ear, back, buttocks, mouth, belly, breasts, skin, bones, brain, head or hair.

This exhibit is a linguistic pleasure with atypical objects, for an entirely exquisite surprise.
