Immersive dance with Benjamin Millepied
The decor is composed of two huge canvases, one on the floor and the other in the background, featuring texts in capital letters on a red background and 3D dancers perform the choreography in the middle of the public.
It is the immersive experience suggested by Benjamin Millepied in the world of Barbara Krüger. The original idea was to perform the dancing in a neutral decor, only accompanied by the music, with full size dancer's holograms, so that visitors can experience for themselves the intense emotions of performing on stage.
George Balanchine created "Jewels" in 1967, while walking along the boutiques of the 5th Avenue in New York; the first act called "Emeralds" is inpired by the French Romantic Dancing Shcool, then "Rubies" speaks about Broadway and "Diamonds" is a tribute to the the virtuosity of the Russian Ballets. Reflexion Redux is an original creation inspired by Jewels.
On the first floor, visitors can watch Benjamin Millepied's films of the L.A. Dance Project ballets : mineral decor of brownfield site, aquatic dance show in costume, alternatively wild or loving pas de deux in a hotel. Immersive scenography or ballet in the street, so that dancing becomes an integral part of life.
