Unusual luxury concierge service, dedicated to African travellers
Born in Douala and living in Paris, Paola Miklas has started an unusual luxury concierge service, to offer African travellers bespoke services, according to their needs and tastes.
She went to the French High School in Cameroon and learnt to know both cultures, at a very early stage; after several years of experience in travel agencies, she noticed that no taylor-made services existed for demanding African customers, travelling to France. The idea was born. Diligence, great sense of service and a surprising inventiveness to give a custom-made answer to any request with a smile, is an evidence for her: nothing seams impossible.
Her favourite recreation ground is Paris: she spent one year walking the capital, looking for confidential places, unique locations, where the history meets the 21st Century. Versailles, the gardens of Marie-Antoinette and the Cour des Senteurs have had no secrets for her and she easily imagines on request, a fashion escape to Deauville in the footsteps of Coco Chanel.
She lived one year in La Rochelle and got the idea of a “memory pathway”, to go back in time and peacefully understand the history of the triangular trade, including private visits of historic mansions, that previously belonged to the shipowners.
Paola added: “To make this job, you need to have a passion for service”
