Back to the future of the photography
The selfie was invented in the 1970s with the analog instant photography that it was possible to see immediatly and take another one, if the first one was not nice enough. And then, the "Pola" became an institution.
In 2008, Polaroïd stopped manufacturing photographic film and left artists, performers and fans without alternative solution, leaving all the space to digital photography, that could be duplicated and transformed easily.
But it was without counting the team of fans called "The Impossible Project" who bought the last remaining plant, producing the precious photographic film. The iconic brand of analog instant photography is being reborn on September 14, 2017, eighty years after the establishment of the company in 1937: today, Polaroid Originals owns the sole plant in the world to manufacture the proper film.
